Our goal is to provide the freshest, highest quality meat product in the market today. Those qualities encompass genetic capabilities in the animal and diversity in the breed. Our animals are free range, grazing on open pastures and fresh Maine water. We pride ourselves on low stress and low -density traditional farming methods. Here at Archer Angus, we do not use or promote growth hormones, antibiotics, or animal bi-products being fed. Our top priority is the health, safety and well being of our animals.
Buckspork of Maine Owned and operated by Archer Angus, LLC.
I am a sixteenth generation farmer in New England. Because of that family heritage, I want to continue to be a diversified family farm that represents traditional farming values, and that will meaningfully impact the eating experience in a mass marketing society. Pasture to plate ownership means taking responsibility and being accountable for the full process. My family and I believe strongly in accountability and responsibility. I chose to be a pasture to plate farmer because I believe that a farmers finished product should go directly to the consumer. By breeding, raising, and feeding our Large Black Hogs, Archer Angus has complete information on our meat animals. There is no middleman to confuse source, quality, or freshness. Archer Angus processes to real-time demand, and guaranties quality source and freshness because we have complete responsibility for our animals until they reach the retail location. We manage environment, food, and water for maximum taste and quality. Archer Angus delivers the same quality and freshness of product that the farmer puts on his own table. Because Archer Angus is a farm to table operation we are more concerned with the quality of the product than the quantity of production.
Simply said, if you know your farmer, you know your food.
